My name is Camilla Jacquot. I am British, married to a Frenchman and have two children. I have lived in France for 15 years and am bilingual (French-English). My family and I live in a village just outside Fontainebleau. We moved to this area from Paris in 2010 because we sought a life out of the city and wished for our children to benefit from a bilingual education in the Anglophone Section at the International School in Fontainebleau.

On our arrival, we rented a property for two years whilst we looked to buy. During this time, we visited many properties in and around Fontainebleau. This ‘house hunting’ experience piqued my interest in property as we compared and contrasted different offers in the region. However, it was above all, my experience as a frustrated tenant that prompted me to take over a small property management business from a friend. Whilst renting, I realized that for a house rental to be successful, the property requires attention and dedication, which may not be possible or practical if the owners are far away.

So, in 2011, Upholding Homes was created – an enterprise committed to managing properties for expatriate owners, recruiting tenants, organising and coordinating maintenance work and dealing with administrative tasks. Supported by a reliable team of independent service providers and contractors, Upholding Homes ensures a proactive approach to ensure the preservation of your home.

Upholding Homes manages properties in Fontainebleau, Samois-sur-Seine, Barbizon, Héricy, Moret-sur-Loing and Montigny-sur-Loing, supporting clients currently based in Singapore, Melbourne, The USA and India. Upholding Homes provides a unique property management service and guarantees tenant well-being in the proprietors’ absence.
